I am absolutely opposed to this proposition by the provincial government. This “improvement” to have a provincial board governing conservation initiatives, as well as the changes made to the endangered species act, is a recipe for disaster for our great province. This Conservative government is using smoke and shadow change critical protections currently in place, to benefit land developers and natural resource companies at the expense of Ontario’s biodiversity. By consolidating the 36 CAs you WILL be, not might be, losing critical knowledge of water management, and we the people will lose our ability to have our voices heard. Even now submitting this comment, I have no faith in my voice being heard as my faith in the provincial government has vanished. The opposition need to come together to oppose these changes, or irreversible damage will be done in the very near future.
