It is time for the environment to take a higher priority with our government and our very lives depend on it. Local advocacy and action paired with conservation experts who really know the areas they are protecting is the best way to achieve environmental protections that are so desperately needed in the face of densification and destruction and disturbances of natural lands. Large centralized approaches risk loosing sight of important regional issues. I have lived for nearly 70 years and have never seen such amalgamations result in savings and improvements that they promise. Please protect our regional conservation authorities and respect their expertise by preserving their authority and unique knowledge of the complex issues of each area they serve.
