The recent creation of the Ontario Provincial Conservation Agency and the proposed amalgamation of conservation authorities are both clearly designed to benefit developers by streamlining or eliminating the permitting process which CA's use to prevent development on flood plains, woodlands and ecologically sensitive areas.

Smaller local single watershed CA's are closer to the land they are designed to protect and more responsive to the people and their needs within that watershed.

Where is the documented proof that these amalgamated CA's will be more efficient, less costly and more responsive to local watershed needs?

The province does not provide 100% of the funding for present CA system so the province can not unilaterally change the system.

Is the government going to promise that it will never privatize the many campgrounds run by CA's?

Is the government promising to never sell off land that the people of Ontario have given to CA's to have it preserved from development or to preserve significant ecological areas?
