To propose these sweeping changes to our conservation authority as a means to "ensure shovels in the ground faster" is the opposite of the justification required for changes. Our conversation authorities are specifically intended to ensure that the natural species and watersheds of the various areas of the region are maintained to thrive and any efforts to circumvent that for the sake of building is ignoring the fact that there is already plenty of land and buildings available to address the housing crisis that the Ford government has done nothing to improve. This is a decision that impacts the health of our environment and should not be allowed to take place in the name of building and development.
