Comments and concerns
-this is another rush job just as the formation of LPAT was. Bill passed and then the only help to individual residents was dropped.
- at your so called summit in March what was the percentage of industry, aggregate owners, academia , indigenous and Ontarian's from various areas of the province?
-how were people made aware of your online survey?
-the Aggregate act (MNRF) has never dealt with social issues. ..safety because of inappropriate haul routes, health issue because of dust and noise, loss of property value , sense of well-being because of disruption in lifestyles. Your comment on decisions about haul routes was not clear. A poor decision on haul routes can affect all of the above social concerns!
-as mentioned at the beginning of this article, Aggregate is a none renewable resource. Therefore wouldn’t a progressive government be looking to more progressive ideas from other countries on how to reuse aggregate resources?? Wouldn’t a more progressive gov start looking to controlling the development of new pits if there isn’t a need? In the North we are devastating land when there isn’t a need. How about some studies in creative environmental areas!!
More study is needed!!! Is there really that much of a rush. Guess your motto is Industry First!!!
