#019-0913 Water Bottling Permit Moratorium

“I support the extension of the moratorium on water bottling permits”

As a Resident and Taxpayer of Ontario, I fully support extension of the current moratorium on water bottling permits.

Extending the moratorium until October 1, 2020 should give the ministry time to complete its analysis of the water quantity review and to publicly consult on and finalize changes to how water takings will be managed before the moratorium ends.

Additionally, an extension should give proponent corporations time to consider single use plastic reduction and their responsibilities under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act.
