30 months ago, the incoming provincial government promised to revive the much-needed Ontario Northlander train. This "plan" has lots of concrete steps to widen highways, build bridges, enhance airports, etc. -- but on passenger rail talks only about a "track audit": next to no action.
Further, for some (legal?) reason this "plan" is posted on the Environment Ministry site, yet aside from some near-perfunctory (legally required?) mentions of environmental assessments, no comparison of benefits and costs of transportation choices -- particularly rail vs. road -- is made. This is of course consistent with the current government's view of the environment as a means or obstacle to economic exploitation, no matter the sustainability and health costs to future generations.
Finally, your "related" link doesn't work.
