The Get It Done Act is going in the wrong direction and another indication to voters that our current plan is out of whack with what we need to focus on. We have six years to get climate change under control and there after we will be in a tale spin of tipping points. We need to protect all green spaces that currenty exist and create more as is being done in so many other countries.
This act frequently refers to other documents and maps not even contained in the Act. Experts across Ontario are learning more about the details and sounding the alarm that things are far worse than expected - particularly for Waterloo Region and Halton Region where Official Plans are again being overridden by the Minister to force thousands of acres of unnecessary urban sprawl. In additiona Waterloo Region there appears to be a surprise further 1,000 or so extra acres of farmland loss along the Highway #401 corridor for employment lands never before contemplated.
Clearly this Act proves that climate action is the furthest thing from our Premier's plan. Let's get to work on it. All the money and land in the world will not be worth anything if we can't eat, drink or breathe.
