We are making these comments on the day (October 8) the IPCC issued its latest report with a dire warning regarding the implications of continuing on a path in which no serious action is being taken to reduce carbon emissions.

I think that the new government is acting too hastily in regards to the cap and trade plan.
True, we must support the needs of business, but business must also work to reduce pollution.

I wish to voice my opposition to the cancellation of the cap-and-trade system, especially without a viable replacement program to be implemented immediately. The premier has claimed to respect hard-working taxpayers and taxpayer dollars, which has been evident in some areas.

I would like, and believe we need a real climate plan to reduce emissions.
I want polluters to pay for their emissions, and 100 percent of those revenues should return to lowering carbon footprint.
I want legally binding emission targets as per obligation to the Paris Climate Agreement.

I am extremely concerned about the recent changes to environmental laws in Ontario, particularly the cancellation of the Cap and Trade program. This was an excellent program which was making a genuine difference in the carbon emissions produced by major polluters in our province.

I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint.

The province needs a meaningful climate change plan. If cap and trade is to be cancelled, it needs to be replaced by either a revenue neutral carbon tax (like in BC) or strict regulation on emitting industries.

I am completely horrified by the "Progressive" Conservative climate plan. Or rather the Complete LACK of a climate plan.
I fully support Cap and Trade and any action that can minimize Ontario's impact on climate change.

Two of the newest Nobel laureates agree a Carbon Tax is required to avoid the worst consequences of climate change. We can't just ignore the facts. Inaction will cost Ontarians in damage to property and loss of life. As our government, it is your duty to act on behalf of the citizens of Ontario.

It is absolutely ridiculous that we are moving backwards instead of forwards in this day and age with regards to the environment. It should be our number one priority if we want a place for our kids and our kids kids to live.
I want to hold our country accountable for the targets selected in the Paris Climate Agreement. We need to ensure a safe environment for our future generations in Canada and around the world.
