As a lakeside resident of Port Colborne I fully support a cormorant hunt. They've been extremely destructive to shoreline trees on my property as well as surrounding properties. I also have great concerns about native fish populations considering the diet these birds consume. Lire davantage

Since cormorants are not native to this area and since they appear not to have any natural predators, it makes sense that some sort of population controls be implemented. Perhaps a 5 year trial period (or something similar) would be beneficial to determine the effectiveness of hunting these birds.

I have noticed the Commorant population has definitely affected my sport fishing on Lake Huron. There are just too many of them eating the bait fish. They have also driven the Loons away. I am in favour of allowing a legal hunt on Commorants.
