Yes this should be done. It is the best idea the ministry has had in a long time. As for a daily limit I would suggest that this is increased to a minimum of 75 or even a 100 with no possession limit.

Yes ofcourse they we need to have a season open for them. Have you seen the island around the bay or Quinte it's disgusting and it need to be way more then ten birds a day

100% agree with this decision. The boards of birds in the upper Niagara area decimated the shorelines as well as the baitfish in the area. Would love a cull of them.

Last year, I personally witnessed a flock of literally thousands of these cormorants gorge themselves on schools of fish that happened to be in relatively shallow water; it was an unbelievable and sickening sight. Lire davantage

I think this is a great step forward in preserving gamefish and even the trees and various habitats that have been negatively affected by the rapidly expanding cormorant population. I hope this gets approved.

The cormorant numbers on lake that I live on has been increasing substantially for the past number of years. They have even displaced the seagulls from islands as well as killed the vegetation on several islands. I watch them devour fish in front of my house greedily. Lire davantage

Hello.. I am a senior that spent much of my leisure time boating , fishing , hunting on Lake St. Clair. I first noticed the Cormorant in the early 1970,s. There were very few at that time.. They are a protected invasive fish eating bird which now number in the many thousands. Lire davantage

I completely agree with this proposal. We live near Georgian Bay and have seen the impact on fishing and the mess that they make on the islands.

I am all for hunting cormorants. I’ve seen the numbers explode over the years while I’m fishing, I’ve seen big numbers of them diving feeding on baitfish making more competition for our native birds such as the loon and diving waterfowl birds. Lire davantage
