Stop the spring bear hunt. It is time we looked after our wildlife by searching for ways to coexist, not by killing animals but allowing them to thrive. Please end this annual killing spree of black bears.

The spring bear hunt is DEAD wrong ! It is not fair to the bears at all because they are vulnerable due to just coming out of hibernation , they need food and time to readjust to life outside of the den ! I am strongly opposed to extending the spring bear hunt. Both mother bear and cubs are at high risk from it. Cubs cannot survive on their own without their mothers. G. Mclellan

I believe it to be cruel and uncaring to hunt bears in spring when they are caring for their young. There is no way to prevent cubs from becoming orphaned, so not only have you unnecessarily killed the mothers, but also their young. Lire davantage

I’m totally against bear hunting, especially with dogs & bait! I grew up in Toronto & never saw a bear even when we went up to cottage country (Georgian bay/Wasaga beach in the 70’s!) Hunting during the spring when females have offspring too young to fend for themselves seems to be poor management policy. It is stated that there will be effort to safeguard females and cubs but no explanation as to how this would be achieved. Orphaning young animals is ethically unacceptable.
