I strongly oppose the proposal to expand spring bear hunt. Most hunters are unable to tell the difference between male and female bears, and the spring hunt will likely result in the killing of mother bears. This will leave cubs orphaned and result in their deaths.

Please stop the spring bear hunt. People will inadvertently kill mother bears who are foraging for food and leave her cubs to starve. That is a cruel death I am sure no one in the government intends.

Canada should be striving to become more humane, not falling back into baiting bears, using dogs and hunting females with cubs. Hunting should be a thing of the past like slavery. And don’t use so called public safety as an excuse for some crazy individuals to kill with official approval.
