All provinces should be in line with standards animal welfare practice and regulations. The extremely cruel and barbaric practice of pen training belongs firmly in the past. If hunting must continue at all, it cannot be further intensified in this unfair, irresponsible and manipulative way. Lire davantage

Another example of the pathetic government that is Ford. The cruelty of this man is unmatched.

I find this disturbing and another wrong turn for the Ford government in 2023. I strongly oppose the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses, and the transfer of existing licenses, for dog train and trial areas in Ontario. Lire davantage

Are you people seriously on crack? Do you realize how uneducated, barbaric and plain stupid this sounds?? Let me get this straight just to ensure I am understanding correctly… Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses, and the transfer of existing licenses, for dog train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals used to train dogs to hunt. Lire davantage

This seems very inhumane; to first trap an animal, only to hold it in captivity and then sick dogs on it afterwards. Have we not moved beyond these barbaric traditions? I request that this proposal be denied.

Wildlife should never be taken from nature and held captive as bait to train dogs. Why does this need to be said? We have been training hunting dogs for centuries without having to keep prey captive for them. This practice is gross, arrogant, and lazy, and has no place in 2023. Lire davantage

I was frankly horrified to learn of the existence in Ontario of 'dog train and trial areas' where captive wildlife is used as bait. The Government should be shutting them down, not expanding their numbers. They deeply offend the morals of a supposedly civilized society. Lire davantage

I strongly, completely and absolutely OPPOSE the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s disgusting and outdated proposal to allow new licenses, and the transfer of existing licenses, for dog training and trial areas in Ontario! Lire davantage

This is a terrible idea. It’s like a time warp. How can this not be seen as the cruel idea that it is?

Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act to allow new licenses for facilities that use captive foxes, coyotes and rabbits as bait to train hunting dogs. I do NOT support this change.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG!! We should be cancelling ANY LOCATION that even thinks about or currently uses this kind of attack on a living creature. THIS IS A FUNCTION TO 1. REFUSE TO CONTINUE OR Ever allow now or in the future. Lire davantage

This proposal is evil. It is horrendous and barbaric, and there is nothing natural about such an arrangement. It is 2023, NOT 1923 - we should be progressing as a civilized society, not going backwards. Lire davantage

I am glad to have been made aware of this proposal so that I may express my outrage and firm opposition to this activity. I am opposed to the addition of more of these facilities, as well as issuing even more licenses. Lire davantage

This is a truly despicable, cruel and inhumane thing to do … I can’t believe that it is government sanctioned. Where are your heads? Where is your heart? Makes me heartsick that you would propose something like this

Please do not allow these changes. It’s cruel to keep wildlife as captive and to allow them to be hunted for pleasure is barbaric. If the regulations are relaxed even for a one-time 90 day period as indicated, it will be misused and 1000’s of innocent animals will fall into this. Lire davantage

To Whom it may concern, I am a licensed practicing veterinarian (since 1980), graduating from Ontario Veterinary College. I do not support providing new licences, nor transferring existing licences to new applicants (new dog train and trial areas and transfer of licences). Lire davantage
