This type of so-called training was supposed to be phased out. This is absolutely ridiculous and should not be happening. This causes extreme stress to the wildlife who are put into a terrifying situation. We all know that wildlife will end up being injured as well. Lire davantage

This proposal is absolutely barbaric. The people of Ontario do not our government to allow pet dogs to savagely kill captive animals. This is horrendous

Please, we don’t need anymore sanctioned violence against living creatures. Where is there evidence based info that the general population would support this special interest initiative

This is the exact opposite of what dog trainers say you should do. Never let domestic dogs kill something. It's beyond wrong and stupid to encourage bloodlust in domestic dogs!

Training unleashed domestic dogs to hunt and kill will unavoidably lead to bloody incidents in cities - one of these dogs will eventually hunt children, other dogs & cats if given any chance. It's not just about animal cruelty, this is wrong in so many ways.

If these train and trial areas were always intended to be phased-out over time, why would this change now? How is it ethical to keep and essentially trap animals to be used at live bait? This sounds inhumane. We can do better.

I am against the issuance of licences of new dog train and trial areas, and to allow the transfer of licences. It is inhumane to use trapped rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as bait in a confined environment to train dogs. Lire davantage

I am horrified that something like this is even considered in any place in Canada! It's pure animal cruelty!

Penned dog hunting facilities have no place in Ontario. It is cruel and inhumane to take wildlife from their natural environments and hold them captive by hunters to train dogs to hunt. The decision in 1997 was the right one and should be maintained. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses, and the transfer of existing licenses, for dog train and trial areas in Ontario. It is inhumane to trap and then use live rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as bait to train dogs. Lire davantage

I am firmly opposed to this idea. Most jurisdictions do not allow this due to the barbaric nature. This proposal should absolutely not move forward.

The proposal is long overdue ! This is really an industry & sport that if properly managed with responsibility people provides outdoor activities to a lot of people that have a passion for their hunting dogs. Lire davantage

I cannot imagine any need for dogs to train for hunting, save instances where people hunt for sustenance. Holding wild animals captive for the sole purpose of supporting "pleasure" hunting for humans is, in itself, inhumane. Kill this proposal now.

Hello, I sincerely hope that this legislation does not pass. We must do better, be better and make intelligent thoughtful choices. If children and most adults would be disturbed watching the activities you are considering abetting, should we as a society allow it to occur? Lire davantage

I am distressed about the practice in Ontario where I live and hunt regarding the use of penned animals to train dogs for hunting or whatever. This is more repugnant to me than baiting and trapping. Please cease these operations. Charles in Southern Ontario.

I oppose the proposal for dog train and trial facilities. The use of wildlife to train hunting dogs is cruel and should not be permitted in Ontario. Thank you for providing for the ability to comment and let me opinion be part of the process.

It is cruel and inhumane to use wildlife as bait to train hunting dogs. Society is trying to move forward to protect wildlife. Issuing licenses for this purpose is a step backwards. People are sickened to hear of this practice.
