I, a proud citizen of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Planet Earth, a new mother, and an elementary school teacher, is strongly opposed to any damage to our valuable greenbelt. Lire davantage

Suburban development costs money in the long run. Many municipalities are finding it difficult to pay for the infrastructure they have currently, let alone adding more developments (water, roads, etc). Lire davantage

Do not open up any protected lands to development. Do not do it. Re-zone existing neighbourhoods to allow mid-density development, that's how we get more housing, not destroying our protected lands and farmland, which we need to eat by the way. Lire davantage

I am a landowner, a home owner, a real estate investor, a father, a husband, and a part of this country. It's absolutely ludicrous that we are considering the development of wetlands when there is so much wasted space around major metropolitan areas. How many strip malls do we need? Lire davantage

I would like to lodge a formal complaint regarding the opening up of the greenbelt. We can’t allow this to happen. We will never get this back. There are no lack of places that can be built up expanded that aren’t part of our most important natural safeguard. Lire davantage

This is an abominable plan. My children and grandchildren will suffer from the damage done to the environment. Only developers will profit, and the city will continue its sprawl and become yet more unlivable, for humans and animals.

I am against this proposal to redesignate existing Greenbelt areas of land to be used for housing. The Greenbelt is vital land important to the ecosystem and health of the surrounding area. It is land that will never be reclaimed and will permanently be lost. Lire davantage

With climate change–driven droughts and floods destroying crops in many of the places we traditionally import food from, there's only one word for a proposal to destroy agricultural land: foolhardy. Lire davantage

I strongly disagree with this plan. It will makes the city become more crowded, and it will effect our enviroment as well. on the onther hand, Canada president want us to pay super high carbon tax for the fuel in order to reduce the carbon in our enviroment. Lire davantage

The greenbelt is protected for a reason. What is different from 2005 to now? If anything that land is more important to protect than ever. This province is NOT going to be the one who kills our countries resources.

Bottom line is this government only cares about money, not people and definitely not the environment. This leaves me with no hope for our future. I see so many abandoned building within cities that could be used and save money as a lot of construction has already been done. Lire davantage

More urban sprawl and car dependancy will not solve the housing crisis, and destroying Ontario's beautiful greenbelt is a horrible path forward. The Greater Toronto Area and surrounding municipalities benefit massively from the wetlands and greenspace the green belt supplies. Lire davantage

We need to protect the greenbelt as was previously agreed upon. Infill housing on existing serviced lands with improved public transit in these areas rather than building on net new lands. Lire davantage

Since the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force hasn’t recommended opening up the Greenbelt to developers, I don’t see why the government has decided to do that. Lire davantage
