This is a huge step backwards for Ontario and I absolutely and fully oppose this.

Bike lanes are really important and we shouldn't rip them out. I ride my bike daily in Scarborough (Toronto) which is already very bike unfriendly and feels unsafe, we should add more bike lanes instead of removing them, please stop!

I'm a 22 y/o electrical engineer and I live in Mississauga. I oppose this plan to remove sections of bike lanes from Blour, Young, and University. I've used these bike lanes when I go downtown, and I think they should be expanded, not removed. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose Bill 212, which proposes removing essential bike lanes in Toronto and requiring provincial approval for new bike lanes that impact vehicle lanes. Lire davantage

Removal of bike lanes from ANY city will cause citizens to die - forcing them onto busy roads instead. Maybe the Conservative party should get off their butts and try cycling to work for a year. They might actually enjoy their commute instead of complaining about being part of car traffic. Lire davantage

I’m a 20-year-old living in Mississauga, and I’m against the plan to remove sections of bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University. I often use these bike lanes when heading downtown and believe they should be expanded, not taken away. Lire davantage

As a 17-year-old kid in the city, it's crucial that you keep bike lanes available for me to travel through. Without bike lanes, there is a higher likelihood of accidents to occur (there is a 50% reduction in injury occurrences according to the National Cooperative Highway Research Program). Lire davantage

This bill wastes taxpayer money, is non-sensical, and will negatively impact my small business.

To my mind, Bill 212 is an example of provincial government overreach on municipal issues. Lire davantage

If dipshit wastes more time and more taxpayer money tearing up perfectly fine bike lanes because he feels like being spiteful I'm going to have to make this a personal issue. Lire davantage

In what universe does having construction crews come in to remove already existing (and paid for!) infrastructure make traffic better? Maybe we could benefit more from better public transit to get some of those cars off the roads.

I support this proposal, City of Toronto removing a car and bus lane for curbs, plants, and bike lanes doesn't make sense in Canada, where we receive snow 4-6 months a year. I often see cyclists using bike lanes to run red lights and they do not obey traffic laws.

This asinine bill should be renamed the reducing choice and endangering my family bill. The bike lanes it will remove are ones my family members and I use regularly precisely because they are the fastest and most inexpensive way to get around. Lire davantage

It is my belief that the provincial government shouldn't be adding bureaucratic red tape and interfering with city development. If Premiere Ford is so interested in Toronto's infrastructure he's free to run for mayor (and lose) again. Lire davantage

As a driver in Ontario I feel much safer on roads where bikers have their own dedicated lanes. Why would the government remove this safety feature?

This is proposed as a way to fight gridlock. As if one extra lane has ever solved gridlock. It is a complete lack of foresight to remove bike lanes. Lire davantage

I am absolutely opposed to this bill. The title has little to do with the content and disguises the fact that it's intention is to both undermine municipal autonomy when making local transportation-related infrastructure decisions and advance environmentally regressive policy. Lire davantage

This legislation is, to be totally frank, insane. It makes very little fiscal sense, is the opposite of what we need to do to fight climate change, and will have no real impact on traffic over any reasonable timeframe. Lire davantage
