This is wonderful news to a Bloor Street community that has been crushed by gridlock post installation of these poorly located bike lanes. Thank you Doug Ford and the whole team for listening to members of the communities so badly impacted! Lire davantage

re proposed Bill 212: The most effective way for managing the traffic issues in a municipality is from the municipal government who know and have direct knowledge of the problems, issues and impacts, and the needs of the City's citizens. Lire davantage

Nov 6/24. My comment on the bike lane removal. First let me say that I have lived on a residential street with real trees - American Chestnut trees - downtown core- Univ Ave and Dundas St.- "China Town"/ hospital corridor 2 blocks away...since 1989... Lire davantage

Speaking as a constituent who uses both a car and a bike to travel between work sites, this proposal would have a negative impact on my commute. The removal of bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University would make my commute both slower and less safe. Lire davantage

I'm a mother of 2 (7 and 2 years old). My parents, both in their 70s, use the Bloor bike lane to travel to my house to help with the children. Before the Bloor bike lane was in place, my mother was injured twice biking to our house due to inadequate biking infrastructure. Lire davantage

Speeding through Bill 212 to undo decisions made by the city and tear out bike lanes (not to mention pushing through Highway 413 without the required environmental assessment) is a clear overreach of the provincial government's power. Lire davantage

More city residents riding bikes means less single occupancy cars on the road which helps traffic. The gridlock traffic in Toronto is from construction, not bike lanes. Bike lanes make traffic more efficient and make being on the road safe and clear for cyclists and motorists.

This proposal is an awful idea. In ontario trying to get almost anywhere by cycling is already a challenge with lacking or unsafe bicycle infrastructure. The main problem is how ontario has long been building almost exclusively for cars and leaving any other form of transit with barely anything. Lire davantage

Thank you to the Ontario government for finally addressing the horrible situation with the bike lanes on Bloor street that were installed by the municipal council without any input from the local residents that actually live in the area. I fully support this motion.

This is the most brain dead possible bill. 1. Bike lanes reduce congestion by having local traffic take the more space efficient bike lanes instead of getting in a car and clogging up the road. Lire davantage

Would love for you to put your efforts, time, and money into finding me a family doctor instead of carrying out this stupid vendetta against Toronto. stop making decisions based on "vibes" and look at the actual data. this is policy direction is appalling. Lire davantage

I am writing to say that I do not support Bill 212. Firstly, the taxpayer money that would go into removing the bike lanes could best be spent elsewhere, such as public transit & building new train/subway lines to provide alternative methods of transportation in order to alleviate car traffic. Please do not remove the bike lanes in Toronto. They keep our cyclists safe and reduce gridlock by allowing people on bikes to move safely and quickly through our city. It is also such a poor use of our tax dollars to remove them.

Like the Province, we believe that Toronto should have bike lanes but only on appropriate streets. Yonge Street is not an appropriate one. It has led to considerable gridlock on Yonge and compromised the safety of bikers, pedestrians and motorists alike. Lire davantage

This bill 212 is not about saving time but focused on driving the ungrounded narrative of the Premier. The proposed highway 414 is not well planned and not ready to move forward without proper analysis, approval, and forethought into the consequences of the plan. Lire davantage

As both a motorist and a cyclist I can tell you that bike lane creation in the city of Toronto has gone much too far. City council operates on the assumption that every bike lane created means less people in cars and the reality is that no one is abandoning their cars to cycle. Lire davantage

This proposal is unlikely to reduce gridlock or save any of us time. Removing bike lanes for traffic lanes will increase congestion in the long-term as well as create more dangerous conditions for cyclists and pedestrians. Lire davantage
