As a senior cyclist I beg you to fight for our bike lanes. We all need to nurture respect for one another, cars, bikes and pedestrians. Cars must have compassion for the vulnerability of the later two. The recent death of a young cyclist on Bloor is an example . Lire davantage

This proposal is insanity. The transport professionals in the ministry know that the evidence shows that bike lanes reduce congestion. Mode shift away from private cars is the only way to reduce congestion. Another lane induces demand and will soon get clogged. Lire davantage

I am a resident of South Etobicoke, a car owner and a daily driver. I strongly believe we NEED bike lanes to keep cyclists safe. I drive along Bloor West practically every single day - as I driver, I feel so much better knowing there is a bike lane keeping cyclists safe. Lire davantage

I am concerned about the public health implications of this proposed plan. As a family physician practicing in downtown Toronto I counsel Torontonians every day on the need to engage in physical activity to maintain health. Lire davantage

It seems extraordinarily tone-deaf of a government to propose removing bike lanes to increase space on the road network for cars in a year when the climate crisis has become more apparent than ever and the Paris Agreement target of pre-industrial + 1.5degC is almost certainly to be breached for the Lire davantage

Thank you Olivia Chow for doing what Ford cannot and fails to do: adding bike lanes and caring about pedestrians, drivers, and cyclists to Toronto.

Removing bike lanes without sufficient consultation (aka the Ontario government deciding it is going to happen!) feels like a step backward, particularly when such infrastructure supports sustainable transportation, reduces congestion, and promotes active lifestyles. Lire davantage

As a long time cyclist (and occasional driver), I can attest that my dangerous interactions with cars has dramatically decreased over the past ten years with the introduction of more bike lanes. There will always be traffic while people continue to drive into the city in large numbers. Lire davantage

I am against the removal of bike lanes in Toronto. They improve the safety of cyclists and pedestrians, make the city more accessible to those of us who don't drive, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Decisions about bike lanes should be left to municipalities

I rely on cycle lanes to safely get from A-B in Toronto. Cycling benefits public health and the planet. Building another lane for cars just encourages more driving and more cars, it is a step backwards, not forwards. This policy will cost lives. Lire davantage

Bike lanes make it safer for cyclists. They also make it easier for people to exercise safely. Lastly, bike lanes are good because they support a mode of transportation that is not bad for the environment, unlike driving. Keep the bike lanes!

An extra lane will worsen traffic downtown and the safety of bikers simultaneously. Don't take us backwards in a direction we will immediately regret. Be good to alternative transportation methods and you will earn our vote!

this is baffling to think this bill is proactive and a positive solution. frankly, it’s a really lazy one! please ensure the safety of cyclists and a bikeable city for us all.

I find it odd that this bill is called "Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time", when the bill tears up bike lanes which keep slower-moving vehicles out of traffic and encourages more active transportation, reducing automobile usage and reducing traffic congestion. Lire davantage

I'm so disappointed that this is under consideration. Removing bike lanes put all road users at greater risk.

The government's plan to remove bicycle lanes is appallingly stupid. 1. The City of Toronto's new lanes don't significantly impact traffic according to research to date. Lire davantage
