Leave the decision up to local authorities. The province should stay out of the issue.

It is hard to understand why, other than ideological disagreements, this should be considered a provincial issue instead of a municipal one. The City of Toronto has made decisions about how it deal with its traffic, the government of Ontario doesn't have a right to butt into it. Lire davantage

Since being elected into office, Doug Ford has wasted my tax dollars by: - unconstitutionally attacking union rights with B124 and wasting countless millions fighting for an obviously unconstitutional law - bringing beer into corner stores 10 months early Lire davantage

This policy is a gross overreach of provincial government into municipal matters. Removing bike infrastructure only causes more congestion as more vehicles will be on the road and cyclists will be forced to take up space in car lanes. This is more dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians. Lire davantage

Everything about this bill is atrocious. Butting in to municipal bike lane planning? Atrocious. Wasting provincial tax dollars to remove already-built bike lanes in Toronto? Atrocious. Lire davantage

Please do not remove bike lanes. It is incredibly backwards and dangerous. Cycling is important for so many people in this city, and bike lanes are incredibly important for their safety.

This proposal has many problems, from interfering in municipal work at a provincial level that can’t possibly understand the traffic issues in a particular area, (see the letter from the municipalities), to totally misunderstanding that everyone on a bicycle is one less car on the road! Such a terrible idea. We need fewer cars, not fewer bikes! I am one of the thousands who commute each day on my bike - its already scary end with how many cars are on the road and with a bike lane. Without it, you are going to just have a huge increase in bike related accidents. Lire davantage

This policy is intended to rile up voters but the end result is it will kill pedestrians. The provincial government has no idea where bike lanes are best utilized and should have no say in where municipalities put them. I resent taking the time to write this comment.

The government of Ontario needs to critically review Bill 212 and realize it is counter productive and will not solve any traffic issues, but instead make it worse. Lire davantage

First off, it features two elements that should be separate. A rural highway and a clause on urban bike lanes are two pieces on their own. Secondly, where are the laws targeting those who block intersections? Lire davantage

The Ontario government is a joke. This can be added to a long list of ridiculous things I’ve heard since Doug Ford coming into power. Do better, this is wild.

Removing bike lanes to create more lanes for cars in an effort to reduce traffic is a terrible idea that is not backed by any research or evidence. It will not achieve the stated goal of the bill, and in fact will worsen the problem. Lire davantage

I am a Toronto driver and cyclist. The diversity of methods of getting around the city afforded by a robust network of bike lanes and transit options keeps us all safer and healthier and reduces gridlock. Do not pass this Bill which would be a severe step backward for our city.

This is fiscally irresponsible. The bike lanes are installed. This seems arbitrary and not based on fact or expert consultation. Where is the consultation of the people?

Car infrastructure should not come at the expense of bike infrastructure. Bike lanes are environmentally friendly, safer, and should be left alone and expanded moving forward.
