Please do not remove bike lanes. We need to provide alternative modes of transportation for everyone. We need to also think about climate change.

I'm very disappointed by and in strong opposition to the direction the administration is choosing to go on this issue. Giving people direct and safe ways to bike around instead of driving is one of the few ways to actually address the root causes of traffic congestion. Lire davantage

This will increase cyclist injuries and deaths, will do nothing to speed up traffic or reduce congestion, and will impact thousands of torontonians who choose to cycle. Countless research shows that bike infrastructure GETS PEOPLE OFF THE ROADS which DECREASES TRAFFIC AND CONGESTION. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are a vital piece of infrastructure that provides a safe, green, and active way of transportation in a city with limited options for those without cars. I live in the west end of downtown with no subway access and no car. Lire davantage

Ontario needs safer way for NON drivers to get around. There is no substantial data that shows that bike lanes increase gridlock. Money needs to be spent on public transit, options that move millions, not a few thousand.

I use the bike lanes to get to work everyday. The roads are unsafe with bikers and cars together. Separate bike lanes are important for the safety of our community members.

This is the opposite of reducing gridlock. Forcing bikers to take a car will increase traffic. This is Doug wanting a shorter commute to work

This process will not reduce traffic, it has been shown time and time again that building good cycling infrastructure reduces car congestion. Those cyclists would otherwise have to be in cars. Lire davantage

Absolutely atrocious to regress as a city and remove bike lanes or prevent new ones. Cars cause traffic. And if we build more, safe bike lanes, then we encourage people who may be on the fence to ride their bikes! This coming from a driver, cyclist and transit rider

Removing bike lanes is a terrible waste of provincial funds, your valuable time and is in the opposite direction of the best interests of residents within the city. Please use the funds for bettering communities outside Toronto rather than as proposed.

Hi, I am a 24 year old Torontonian and have lived here my entire life. Please, I ask that you consider not removing the bike lanes in Toronto along Bloor, Yonge, and University. Lire davantage

As a person who chooses to cycle to work (because it is faster and more affordable than both driving and transit), the improvements to cycling infrastructure in Toronto over the past few years have been instrumental in keeping me safe, reducing congestion, and helping me get to work on time. Bicycle lanes save lives, this is an incredibly short sighted proposition... and to think I used to vote conservative is embarrassing given that this is even proposed

I am a resident of Toronto and also a neurologist treating patients with head injuries and other neurological injuries and the number of preventable accidents I see in my practice is astounding. This law is not an against bike lanes, it is a violent attack against public safety. Lire davantage

I am in opposition of bill 212 - cities flourish with increased biking infrastructure. I am both a driver and a biker in downtown Toronto, and as a driver, slowdowns in traffic are coming from parked cars closing lanes and causing merges, not bike lanes. Lire davantage

DO NOT GET RID OF BIKE LANES. Getting rid of bike lanes does NOT reduce congestion. Getting rid of them makes the road more dangerous for both motorists and cyclists, and increases congestion by making a bike take up space in a motor lane. Lire davantage

Bike lanes save lives and they save travel times! I am a downtown driver. I am so happy that there are bike lanes. I no longer have to worry about a cyclist taking up the entire driving lane and I know that I am a safe distance from them. The bikes lanes speed up my commute. Lire davantage

I think the municipality should be able to decide whether or not to put bike lanes. With all the building activity going on it’s important to have safe bike lanes for those who want to be environmentally friendly and ride their bicycles for leisure or work.

Terrible idea, the government should be promoting public transit, riding your bike or exploring other options rather than trying to make cars and driving more accessible. Did somehow we forget about climate change? Get it together.

Every modern reseach study and urban planning strategy has shown the positive impact of bike lanes. Why is the city of Toronto being impeded from doing what its voters what and need? Lire davantage
