I am a councillor with the Township of Rideau Lakes. We have twice had proposals for battery storage facilities, BESS, and both times the proposals were turned down in a 5-4 vote. A voting bloc of 5 banded together to support one of the 5 who lives very near one of the sites. Lire davantage

Ontario's plan should be to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, especially when homegrown energy like solar is so cheap. It's a tax on Ontario's economy to lock ourselves into reliance on Alberta and oil/gas countries for our energy needs. Don't waste taxpayers dollars on gas and oil.
