I am an Ontario tax-payer, proud to live and work in this province. I believe that Ontario could be on the cusp of greatness in the world, and a leader on the global stage, and I believe this can happen if we make a choice now to do something truly innovative. Read more

Shouldn't the Climate Change Action plan and reporting come before the repeal of the Cap and Trade Act? This seems like a backward (both literally and figuratively) approach to something that is impacting us now and other global citizens to a great degree already. Read more

It is essential to have a price for carbon emissions, and to keep Ontario’s Cap and Trade program. For too long, polluters have privatized profits while imposing the enormous environmental costs onto the public. We, as a society, cannot afford to allow carbon emissions to continue unchecked. This Act should not be cancelled unless otherwise replaced with another form of carbon pricing. A preferred form is a carbon fee and dividend that would reap the financial benefits of charging a fee on carbon at the source, and by corporations, and return those benefits directly to individuals. Cap and Trade is the best way to provide much needed funds without burdening the taxpayer. It is the best of both worlds - climate action that isn't onerous to business or individuals. Your own calculations showed that the cancellation of cap and trade would save families $250 per YEAR! Read more

PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS! Our earth is dying. We have less than 20 years left before anyone can live sustainably UNLESS we make changes now. Corporations contribute more than 70% of our pollution. We owe it to ourselves, our children and our grandchildren to try and make changes. Read more

It is extremely disappointing to watch the Ontario government moving backwards instead of forwards on climate change policy. The report from the IPCC that was just released, which implores more urgent action, makes this decision is all the more egregious. Read more

It is abhorrent that this government wants to scrap plans on climate action. We are in a crisis that demands immediate attention to reducting emissions and converting to more sustainable alternative energy sources. We need comprehensive and wide ranging action now.

Do not cancel this. It is extremely short-sighted to cancel. The loss of this will have a massive negative impact on the environment and economy, as many green intitiatves that would provide thousands of jobs were going to be funded by this. Read more
