By halving the maximum alternative parkland dedication rate, this will reduce the amount of parkland that residents will have to enjoy. Already the amount of community space within subdivisions is quite small. Read more

Bill 23 eliminates environmental assessments and previous legislation for projects currently underway in Ontario. Bill 23 allows development in Greenbelts and reduces arable land close to cities, destroying wetland and woodlands, stressing native fauna and increasing water drainage problems.

Also of particular importance is the part of Schedule 3 that deals with parkland dedication. It would cut the amount of parkland that must be set aside by developers by 50%. Parks are one of the most important kinds of greenspace for urban residents and they are already in short supply. Read more

This Bill proposal is ridiculous. Can you imagine a neighbourhood of 600 homes with one park! I don't want our municipality to sprawl out into the agricultural land around our city. We have enough land inside the city to support low-income housing. We just need to build up, not out. Read more

Renters living in purpose-built rentals are more at risk of being evicted. The government is giving itself permission to ban and restrict city rules that requires developers to return a tenant to their rent-controlled apartment after construction of the new bigger condo is complete. Read more

There are so many issues with Bill 23 the entire Bill needs to be reviewed thoroughly with enough time for citizens to properly comment on the sections that matter most to them. I feel strongly that the omnibus bill and the speed by which it was passed are undemocratic. Read more

This proposal is irresponsible to biodiversity and residents: Why: • It is wrong that the amount of land for parkland designation is going to be cut in half and limiting the % of land that can be dedicated for parkland. It is wrong to freeze parkland dedication rates. Read more

The province seems to not have done their research. Cities are not for profits. There is no one gettung rich off of DCs. This legislation will not lead to cheaper homes. The trickle down effect is not real. Read more
