Cutting development fees will hurt municipalities. They need the fees to pay for services for new developments. Houses will sit empty if there are no services like sewage, utilities, garbage etc. Read more

Definately against this. Our governments need funding and the developers Doug is looking to help are elite 1% who are making hordes of money already. They have the room for absorbing the costs. The government should be using their tools to force the developers to play fair ball.

I have a number of concerns with this bill 1 - The changes in this bill result in less opportunities for parkland dedication and make strategic focus on parkland dedication less likely to happen. This will means that planning for open space will be disjointed. Read more

Bill 23 is a disaster for the Province. It will cost tax payers and not provide affordable housing. Reducing development charges isn’t the answer. The home buyer does not get the discount the developer La. The discounts provided by this government will cost all of Ontario long term! Read more

This is to voice my objection to the proposed changes to the greenbelt that would take some lands out of the existing greenbelt. No land that is currently (as of November 28, 2022) should be taken out. Please add lands. Read more

All information I have been able to read on this Bill indicates that it is a poor piece of legislation that will not achieve the desired goal of affordable homes and it will also destroy large portions of the Greenbelt. Read more

Please accept my comments in opposition to Bill 23. Bill 23 was passed without sufficient consultation and will result in my property taxes increasing. Markham has estimated that property taxes will increase 50-80%! I, along with most Ontarian's, cannot afford increased property taxes. Read more

Developers will consistently charge market rate to home buyers. These savings will simply go to the developers not the homebuyers. Higher taxes will inevitably result and less services as municipalities struggle to compensate for this revenue lose. Read more
