Before destroying valuable rural green space, Developers should be required to demonstrate they have exhausted any and all alternatives. This would create a movement to redevelop and densify older low-rise buildings in neighborhoods throughout the city of Toronto and its neighbouring communities. Read more

Please don’t open up the greenbelt so developers can build profits. Listen to your task force and use the land already open more efficiently. We need to densify. Building more suburbs is destroying communities and part of the reason people are becoming more isolated. Read more

The greenbelt should not be developed. This is an incredibly short sighted decision that disregards provincial promises previously made. There is no need to expand any infrastructure into the greenbelt and all failing infrastructure currently existing should be invested in and augmented.

The development of locally protected green space and farmland will substantially harm current and future residents in the area. The destruction of these areas will hurt our access to affordable and local food, local nature areas, and destroy species at risk habitat. Read more

This proposal is backwards and infuriating. We are so fortunate to have the Greenbelt lands that many organizations have worked so hard to protect. If this proposal is approved, the lives of thousands of animals and the well-being of many ecosystems are at stake. Read more

Please do not touch change anything to the Greenbelt. There is zero reason at this time to expand into this are. There is more than enough already allocated lands sitting idle. This is clearly a way to allow developers to build large homes and add to sprawl. Read more
