COSTI Immigrant Services supports the issuance of an MZO for the development proposed for the site located at 1635 Lawrence Ave. W. Our work in running shelters for the homeless has become exceedingly difficult because of the lack of suitable affordable housing. Read more

The owner of 1635 Lawrence Avenue West should NOT BE ALLOWED to have this proposal via the Provincial Government (Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing) for a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) to rezone their property for affordable housing and mixed-use development. Read more

Toronto is becoming the wild wild west. There are rules to follow in the City and they should be followed. This developer is circumventing the standard approval process, which includes City approval, and community consultation. Do it the correct way! Read more

While I believe we need affordable housing adding four-30-40 story buildings without assessing the impact on the existing community is ludicrous! There should be a process to make sure that builders cannot circumvent community consultations. Read more

This developer is trying to sidestep the city procedure and not for the betterment of the community. I strongly urge you to refuse their request. There is no reason other than the desire for lack of accountability as to why they would not proceed through the city for this development. Read more
