I strongly opposes this Act, and any government action that would weaken environmental protections and conservation efforts in Ontario. This is a step in the wrong direction. We need to be doing more to protect endangered species here in Ontario. These efforts are shameful. Read more

As citizens of this planet, we have a responsibility to all creatures that inhabit it and most especially those deemed at risk. The Conservative government under Doug Ford would eradicate species at risk to line their pockets and the pockets of their developer friends. Read more

This is a terrible idea. I am a Conservative voter but will not continue to support the Conservatives in the future if this goes through. You can support business without putting endangered animals at risk.

I'm still trying to understand how the Conservative position on the environment has simply become "wanton, unmitigated destruction in the pursuit of capital." In the past, Conservative governments at least paid lip service to the idea of protected lands and conservation, but now---as the Ford govern Read more

If the purpose of these changes are to support -sustainable- economic growth, disregarding the natural environment and it's inhabitants by marginally shortening development timelines will not yield this result. Read more

As a citizen of Ontario, I do not accept or support these proposed changes. These laws were put in place to protect at risk and endangered species of wildlife. Human development and profit margins do not override the responsibility we have to the Earth and the creatures we share it with. Read more

I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

Strongly opposed to these changes. I'm just a citizen. I don't have supporting documents -- Scientists would have those. I suspect they were not consulted. I can't imagine how these changes would better protect endangered species. I suspect it not protecting them is the point. Read more

Disgusting. The whole point of these protections is to avoid developers just plowing through a piece of land to make a profit with complete disregard to the effects on our environment. You just want to pave over the entire province, eh?
