While I recognize that the Ontario government is keen to accelerate certain projects (business, transit, housing), there needs to be a higher priority given to protecting our natural environment. Species and habitat, once lost, are gone forever.

I do not support Bill 5 and the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Doug Ford has spoken out against Donald Trump’s comment about buying Canada, much to the relief of many. However, he is now going back on his word. These proposed changes are blatant hypocrisy.

This bill is a death sentence for species at risk. This bill offers economic benefit for a few at the expense of species that our ecosystem requires to remain viable. We need a healthy ecosystem to continue to grow food - nothing Trumps the economy of supplying food to.us all.
