The new "definition" of habitat is deliberately vague and does not align with any of the long established scientific definitions of habitat. It ignores the importance of the surrounding landscape for sustaining life. Read more

I am a very concerned Ontarian. Initially I was apalled by the Ford government's plan to scrap the greenbelt protections in the interest of earning billions more for already billionaire developers. Then I applauded Ford when he went back on this egregious decision. Read more

We need to protect our vulnerable animals and save the ecosystem as much as possible. The damage from the industries is severe in the past of decades in Ontario. Natural environments are much more valuable than anything else. The projects have to be in harmony with the people and animals. Read more

As a constituent that lives near protected environmental land, and one who fought loudly to save the greenbelt, I am appalled that this government is once again trying to lift environmental regulations and change them from something scientific into something political. Read more

I oppose bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

This Bill 5 is completely irresponsible and yet abother attempt by the Ford government to develop green spaces in Ontario. Do not oush this through - there are other more environmentally efficient ways to get more business in Ontario, like simply offering spaces that exist in a diverse province.

This proposal absolutely hinders environmental protection. The whole point of these protections is to prevent development and sustain ecosystems that are already in place. By stripping away existing protections and redefining terms to suit developer interests is simply disgusting. Read more
