As a Biology graduate and Former Science teacher I am very much against this newly proposed bill. An animal's natural habitat extends far beyond its nesting area as it forages for food, etc. Read more

It it very concerning that this kind of backwards step needs to be addressed. We are in BIODIVERSITY COLLAPSE. WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO DO THIS. You cannot pave the entire world. Totally unacceptable, and another colonial slap in the face. Read more

This bill is a huge slap in the face to our indigenous communities who work tirelessly to protect wildlife and their habitats. It endangers fragile eco systems and would put countless animal lives in danger. Scrap this bill.

We cannot give politicians more power to bypass environmental issues to push through projects that impact our environment. We need our scientists to be involved more then ever not less.

Why would you do this. Genuinely who benefits from this. The species protected by this act are key players in maintaining fragile ecosystems. Especially considering the threat that climate change has to us And our children, who in their right mind would choose to speed up this process? Read more

Doug Ford’s “Protect Ontario” bill is like calling arson a home renovation. He’s gutting the Endangered Species Act so his developer cronies can pave ecosystems. I oppose Bill 5. It guts protections, ignores science, and tramples Indigenous rights. Scrap it. Read more

I am disturbed to read about Bill 5 that strips endangered species of habitat protection. We all know that habitat is more than just where an animal or bird or amphibian sleeps. Read more

We cannot abandon protection for wildlife in the name of fast tracking new builds. Remember Doug Ford, this is the future of our planet. Yes, I agree that we need more housing and ways to make our country self-reliant, but not at the expense of wildlife. Read more

Doug Ford’s “Protect Ontario” bill is like calling arson a home renovation. He’s gutting the Endangered Species Act so his developer cronies can pave ecosystems without even checking if anything lives there — then call it growth. Read more

This proposed change is an absurd step backwards. Species populations cannot be increased without protections for the space that they need to do so. Protection of habitats is one of the primary steps that people can take to support other species.
