Living in Chatham-Kent, I totally disagree with reopening the old Dresden dump without a full environmental assessment of the area in question. Why can’t Ford and the GTA find a site in their own area to dispose of their garbage and waste. We don’t send our waste to Toronto but dispose it locally. Read more

The impact to the community will be devastating. We are a rural community and agriculture is a huge part of our lives. Growing crops and raising livestock is necessary for our community and the province, country, and beyond our borders. Read more

The Dresden community has worked hard over the years to make their small town a destination of choice. The provincial government is being irresponsible in, at a minimum, not obtaining an environmental assessment. Read more

This amendment to the Environmental Assessment Act, entirely circumvents the purpose of this law. The EAA was created by people that had an intention of protecting our environment(drinking water, wildlife, life sustaining needs, recreation). Read more

I have already shared my thoughts and opinions on the Dump that the Fird Government is trying to bully theor way to make happen. I did highlight the safety concerns for children and our surrounding communities, as the large trucks that will be bringing the waste to the dump. Read more

Doug Ford said the company would not be allowed to go ahead since the people of Dresden didn't want it and after being reelected has changed his mind. Using and expanding the dump will destroy the eco system and endanger wildlife and the people in that area and beyond. Read more

I am a 4th generation Dresden resident. I am sickened by this issue. The property that York 1 purchased is 800 metres from our town. Allowing York 1 to skirt around an EA is a detriment to our wellbeing. The property abuts Molly's creek which drains into the Sydenham river. Read more

The possible leaching from this site into a nearby creek and then the Sydenham river, then the Snye river, then Lake St.Clair abd Lake Erie is extremely troubling. It could have a disastrous effect on plant and animal life in these areas. It definitely warrants an environmental evaluation.

In my nearly 50 years of living in Chatham-Kent nestled neatly between 3 of the most beautiful Great Lakes in North America and riding along 3 major river channels including the Thames, the Sydenham and the St Clair, I've come to the realization that the only reason we have the semblance of a cleane Read more

Dresden is not an appropriate site for this dump. It is too close to town and there are no major roads leading to this location. These local roads are not built to handle heavy truck traffic. This area also is home to several endangered species. The dump is way to close too local waterways! Read more

This project cannot go ahead as it is only 800 meters from the town and will affect many residences and a school I feel we can not subject our students to be in close proximity of a dump and also cannot have houses right beside the dump Read more
