The historically significant and world renowned community of Dresden, home to the Josiah Henson Cabin formerly known as Uncle Tom’s Cabin is outraged and betrayed by the Ford government and our own Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault, for attempting to fast track the York1 landfill expansi Read more

People in this town have worked hard to build a life—raising families, running businesses, and contributing to a strong, close-knit community. Why should all of that be put at risk for the benefit of a GTA-based company that was just fined in April 2025 for mishandling operations at another site? Read more

We need environment assessment. A dump near Molleys Creek and Sydenham River will contaminate the water bodies for drinking water and jeopardize the endangered wildlife species that live in these water bodies. Read more

The people of the Dresden, ON and surrounding communities do not want a dump? Why is this site being entertained when it doesn't even follow proper setbacks from a town? Why do you place a landfill that will most definitely drain into the Sydenham River, home of many species at risk? Read more

My comment is; this is such a bad idea to build a mega dump containing toxic materials (asbestos, nonuseable contaminated soil, etc.), this close to a town, the proponents of this project might as well use their equipment to dig a mass grave for the town of Dresden, the people in the town, and the Read more

Getting rid of environmental protections to make profit for private companies is a shortsighted idea detrimental to future generations of Ontarians. This government has proven that they need supervision. They've consistently chosen to bolster private companies over the people of Ontario. Read more

I am a resident of Dresden Ontario. I am opposed to the York 1dump and at minimum request an environmental assessment be complete before allowing this project to move forward. The location of this dump is located on a water way filled with endangered species. Read more

The proposal by the PC government in Ontario to reopen a waste disposal facility in Dresden is going to be an environmental disaster. The amount of waste and pollution that this site is going to create is going to ruin people’s way of life not to mention their water wells. Read more

There is no way this dump should go ahead in Dresden it is too close to the town too close to water ways and too many trucks traveling on roads not meant for this use Also appears like some shady things going on in politics

I'm concerned about all the extra traffic on the road, having 2 young kids and community activities. I'm worried for their health and drinking water and seepage contaminating underground water sources, since I live in the country and have a well for our water.

Having a landfill will be terrible for the town. Having a landfill is a necessity, but the negative effects of it not being ours. Being such an outdoors focused area with the rivers, and hunting, and fishing. This whole area used to be environmentally significant. Read more

I drove past a landfill for 20 years, up until 2 years ago and you could smell that landfill from 4 to 5 km in any direction depending on which way the wind was blowing. Always having to wait for traffic to turn in and always needing to clean off the road because the trucks were so messy. Read more
