I am extremely concerned by the erosion of democracy in Ontario. Decisions about the environment and human health, e.g. regarding landfill sites, should not be concentrated in the hands of a few ministers. Read more

I am opposed to the passage of Bill 5 as I feel it gives too much power to government, developers and corporations, while removing safeguards which are there to protect the public. It was rushed through without sufficient public education, input and debate.

This is an assault on Species Protection, The Rule of Law, Renewable Energy and Indigenous Rights. I do not support these changes. We must take care in environmental assessment protocol - and respect that it ought to be a slow, thorough process.

To remove the environment assessment requirement for the York1 waste disposal site is just plain nonsense and inept. Bill 5 is proposing there is no value to the Sydenham’s River most species-rich areas, home to 33 species at risk. Read more
