This is a huge project and not a project to take lightly. There is no room for shortcuts when it is this close to a town and surrounding homes. An Environmental Assessment is critical in this circumstance.

Please do not submit a land fill near Dresden, Ontario. The infrastructure of the roads cannot handle the magnitude of these trucks coming every day. The cost to fix the roads will cost millions. Read more

What more do we (the Dresden Community) have to do to get you (everyone in government) to listen. We don’t want the dump. Stick to your word, force the environmental assessment. Listen to the people! Protect Ontario’s environment! Read more

My entire family lives within the Dresden community. We have businesses here, our kids go to school here, our lives are here. This dump will put our lives at risk. It contaminates our water. It pollutes our air. It puts the safety of the community at risk. Read more

Ford says we have to do this in case Trump stops taking our garbage. Trump will only do that if Ford cuts off electricity. These threats from both sides seem to have gone away. Fords reasoning on why this dump is needed is gone. Read more

So I'm a resident of dresden. I would just like to say that we worked hard as a community to fight against this, just to have it undone by Bill that will remove things like an environmental assessment to help what bring in jobs. Read more

How could the removal of the EA requirement ever be considered a legitimate and acceptable thing to do?? It had been required a few months ago and magically Premier Ford and his ministers have changed their minds and say it is no longer required through their Bill 5. Read more

I find it incredibly disheartening that this government is threatening to take away the Environmental Assessment on this project. When we voted in the election, we had an EA in place. We feel betrayed by our leaders with this proposal of removal. Read more

THIS PROPOSAL IS NOT AN EXPANSION OF A LANDFILL because this was only ever used as a fly ash waste dump in the 1970-1980’s. Since the past use was a bomb disposal and gun range for the Chatham Kent police, this property has long ago closed from being any form of waste dump. Read more

Prove to the community of Dresden that all government officials are for the people. If this EA is removed, it’ll be clear that you’re not for the people, rather, you’re for York1. Not a good strategy to win future elections. Read more

Today is the last day to submit a comment for this ERO and as I write this I am sick to my stomach not knowing what the future holds for myself and my family. I moved to Dresden 5 years ago for a better life, a quiet life. Read more

This is ludicrous, and an abuse of power. Of course a full environmental assessment should be performed. Our community will not stand for Trump-like loopholes. This government should serve the people, ALL of the people, not just the rich.

There are lots of concerns listed but my main concerns are proximity to Dresden and the schools, air pollution, water pollution and traffic with 700 trucks a day planned. As a mother of young children who will grow up in this area the pollution and toxicity is frightening. Read more

Seems like our government is taking the easy way out. Looking for a fast way to add a dump, and doing it in a very shady way. Put some thought into this for ounce. Ask yourself, is this really the only option? Read more
