I don’t feel it’s necessary to fill this pond. I think it’s more of a lake. Will it not affect the drinking water? There needs to be other places that can use the fill and will the fill be monitored so no contamination is happening. This is such a poor decision. So sad. Read more

Don’t allow developers to ruin the water table. Clean water for the nearby and downstream residents, wildlife and water heading down the water table to Lake Ontario. Caledon is far too precious a natural and economic resource to become a dumping ground. Read more

Given that the land acknowledgement of the area identifies that these projects are within the Dish with One Spoon treaty territory, have the Chiefs within the 6 Nations been part of these decisions? Indigenous consultation requires input and approvals from all of the Chiefs. Read more

I am firmly against this motion to allow fill to be dumped here. This is now a reclaimed and naturalized lake. Leave it alone. Also the process by which this was rammed through without transparency, disclosure and consultation is highly problematic. Read more

I am concerned that a prominent developer will be allowed to create a fill operation at 0 Shaws Creek Rd (known to residents as Swan Lake). This property is a vital piece of Caledon’s heritage in that it is a prime example of an aggregate company upholding its commitment to their community. Read more
