I don’t feel it’s necessary to fill this pond. I think it’s more of a lake. Will it not affect the drinking water? There needs to be other places that can use the fill and will the fill be monitored so no contamination is happening. This is such a poor decision. So sad. Lire davantage

Don’t allow developers to ruin the water table. Clean water for the nearby and downstream residents, wildlife and water heading down the water table to Lake Ontario. Caledon is far too precious a natural and economic resource to become a dumping ground. Lire davantage

Given that the land acknowledgement of the area identifies that these projects are within the Dish with One Spoon treaty territory, have the Chiefs within the 6 Nations been part of these decisions? Indigenous consultation requires input and approvals from all of the Chiefs. Lire davantage

I am concerned on many levels about this proposal: 1) impact on groundwater, contamination of our drinking water 2) negative impact on wildlife and fauna, the land is currently rehabilitated to a clean lake that is home to lots of birds, fish, wildlife that will be displaced Lire davantage

The practice of dumping industrial/residential fill into old pits and quarries may, on the surface, sound like a good idea. Clearly, we have a problem with all the fill resulting in the panic to build more houses. Lire davantage

I do not support the destruction of Swan lake. None of the citizens agree with council on the filling of a thriving environment nurturing many species including pollinators. This should be illegal and is reprehensible.

I am firmly against this motion to allow fill to be dumped here. This is now a reclaimed and naturalized lake. Leave it alone. Also the process by which this was rammed through without transparency, disclosure and consultation is highly problematic. Lire davantage

I am concerned that a prominent developer will be allowed to create a fill operation at 0 Shaws Creek Rd (known to residents as Swan Lake). This property is a vital piece of Caledon’s heritage in that it is a prime example of an aggregate company upholding its commitment to their community. Lire davantage
