Unsafe soil is not compatible with the protective nature of the greenbelt plans. Municipal and provincial regulation and enforcement may develop in the future to better control these soil dumps, but sampling and testing cannot guarantee that all the dumped soil is completely safe. Read more

The amount of land being destroyed to just build more and more houses.....that no one can afford, is insanity. Read more

I have concerns about Aecon filling in 571 hectares, part of which is below water pit and an existing pond. What evidence is there to prove this action will not cause disruption to private wells in the area, as well as green lake and the credit river. Read more

I urge you to deny and revoke this proposal. It will undoubtedly harm the local community and environment. Filling a lake poses serious risks to the communities groundwater and will simultaneously destroy all aquatic wildlife.

The lake--aftermath of the gravel extraction--should be rehabilitated rather than stuffed full of excavated dirt from construction sites. The dirt itself is not monitored for ideal quality, and almost certainly will affect the water table and nearby wells of Caledon Village. Read more

This proposal is an egregious act of negligence to both the environment and the surrounding lands. The idea of filling in a lake that is home to many species including trumpeter swans, and which was originally an aggregate facility which has been rehabilitated is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!
