I would prefer it if the Province would continue to be responsible for the Parks in Wasaga Beach. As a taxpayer in Wasaga Beach, I don't feel we can afford any additional costs that would be involved in the future as a result of this transfer taking place. Read more

These are public lands - established and protected for the enjoyment and wellbeing of all. All people and subsequently, all wildlife. Let's be frank and call these proposed legislative amendments what they really are - a land grab. Read more

Keep Wasaga Beach as a Provincial Park. Stop the greed and destruction of our environment that the Town would cause. Keep it public... Save the Plovers... Read more

The Town of Wasaga Beach should not take over beach park lands as it is not in best interest of the environment or its residents. The current council are on a pathway of destruction by developing a small community that does not have the infrastructure to support rapid growth. Read more

I think that provincial park areas 1 and 2 in wasaga beach should not be transferred to ministry of tourism managed by the town of wasaga beach. Read more

This legislation should not be passed. One of the key features of Wasaga Beach is the 14 Km of uninterrupted access along the entire beachfront. Passing this legislation could allow Wasaga Beach council to bulldoze prime park space and beachfront for private developers. Read more

Wasaga Beach 1 and 2 ought to remain a provincial responsibility. Our town was not consulted and this town council is widely regarded as corrupt. We need oversight.

I’m completely against the town of Wasaga beach managing our beaches. The towns citizens were not consulted, again. Any council who votes themselves a 400% salary increase is not to be trusted.

I support the Town of Wasaga Beach and its development plan. Unfortunately, there is a lot of park land here amongst the parking areas under control by the Ontario Government. I believe these areas need to protected and kept as greenspace.

KEEP IT PROVINCIAL! The responsibility of the beach must remain with the province and NOT the municipality, in order to preserve the beaches and associated wildlife. The Province is most qualified and experienced at managing and protecting the property while providing revenue. Read more

My family and I are against the proposal to transfer Wasaga beach lands to the town of Wasaga. In the town’s hands it may be treated as a cash cow in favour of “value added tourism” in their words. Read more

I’m a home owner in Wasaga Beach and the sheer volume of people using our roads and facilities is overwhelming to the point where it needs to be controlled It’s a tourist town and I “get it” but as a retired professional looking for small town atmosphere it’s a pretty busy place all the time Read more

We find this to be a terrible idea. Who knows if a developer could get their hands on this prime real estate. From what we have read there is no benefit to the general public. This area should continue to be protected. Count this as one vote against this plan Thanks! Read more

The town did not ask any resident how we feel about this, typically running roughshod over everything. You cannot trust a council who votes themselves a 400% salary increase. Leave the beaches with the province, I beg of you.

I believe that the status quo should continue whereby the Province retains control and maintenance responsibilities of all beach areas in Wasaga Beach. The Town does not do a good job of maintaining the properties that it does control. Read more
