I support the transfer of Nancy Island Historic Site to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Gaming. It has been great working with Ontario Parks, but recently the Ministry of Environment has failed to provide adequate funding to maintain and staff Nancy Island. The additional $25m. Read more

I am passionate about provincial parks and their role in the protection of the ecological integrity or our resources in Ontario as well as the current natural and cultural heritage resources that make up the fabric of our province. Read more

I truly believe that all provincial parks including Nancy Island should stay under the provincial jurisdiction . I believe if they are turned over to The Town of Wasaga Beach, nothing good could possibly come from that .

I do not want to see changes of ownership because I worry that this will open up opportunities for development that will ruin the natural spaces and reduce access to nature that are used for so many Read more

Please do not let this happen! Protect the beautiful nature and the species there ( piping plover neststing area). The future generations will not appreciate this excessive mass tourism that pollutes and does nothing for the community and the land. No need for that. Read more

Wasaga Beach is a Crown jewel in Ontario's parks system, and the proposal to transfer ownership of Areas 1 and 2 to the Town of Wasaga Beach is both appalling and unsurprising, given the current provincial government's record of dismantling environmental protections. Read more

I grew up on the beaches of Georgian Bay, and there is nothing more important to the world's longest freshwater beach than preserving its natural features.

I whole heartedly oppose this. It would very negatively impact the fragile ecosystem and must not move forward. Once we loose ecosystems like this and threatened species like the piping plover, we cannot get them back. We need to preserve the environment not destroy it.

As someone planning to move to Wasaga Beach with my family next year, I care deeply about the future of this community. Four generations of my family have visited Wasaga every summer, and we treasure its small-town charm, beautiful beaches, and natural surroundings. Read more

This is a horrible Idea. The properties in question need to continue to be apart of the Provincial Parks. This is for all Ontarians and for the Environment. This will render Ontario Parks Passes less valuable to buy which will affect the funding the Ontario Parks generate from the passes. Read more

I don't want the government selling off provincial parks. Stop giving away Canadian land. We have no idea what will happen to this land, in 10 or 20 years from now if you give wat control. Ford has just sold Ontario place. They will be selling off the Science Centre, now Wasaga Beach. STOP Ford

The transfer of these properties to the Town of Wasaga Beach is a fantastic idea. It is time for Wasaga Beach to take control of these beaches and develop them into world class destinations. Both residential and tourist based growth are needed to keep this jewel of Georgian Bay vibrant.
