Definitely disagre with the transfer. It would not be protected from monitary ideas to profit from the use of the beach and amenties. Also thay would be able to force right of admition or worse privitise. The beach should always be public

The province of Ontario must protect these lands from unscrupulous actions that may be taken to privatize parts of the beaches. Don’t let it happen. Let our beaches be open to all residents and visitors. Read more

I am a resident of Wasaga Beach, and my family and I would like to see the provincial park stay. We use it from time to time as it is one of the few places along the beach that has ample shady locations on hot summer days.

Please reconsider transferring ownership of Beach areas 1 and 2, Allenwood and New Wasaga Beaches to the town of Wasaga Beach. Completing this transfer would be a big mistake. Read more

The change is already having adverse affects on the beach and water. The beach is no longer being dragged daily which is allowing more garbage into the lake. The water used to have a sandy entry. It's now muddy and murky. Read more

This should be a provincial jurisdiction. Small town politics should not have control of something that should be shared with all, not just whom they choose. I’m not saying that they will, but they could.

Most of this is a TERRIBLE idea! The Town of Wasaga Beach's government simply can not be trusted with the preservation and enhancement of Beach Areas 1 & 2. Read more

What will the financial impact be to the taxpayers in Wasaga Beach? Will the province provide financial support for any on going maintenance and rehabilitation?

Please don’t move this historic site when there’s not much do to at beach 1 anymore especially now that a condo is going up.

Re: Wasaga Beach. The province should keep ownership of the beaches 1 &2 as well as Nancy Island. The province created this park as the town did not have resources/expertise/foresight to create and maintain the beaches along the Bay. Read more

Don’t do it! Once it’s done you can’t take it back. There are too many municipalities that are not interested in preserving what we have. Wasaga is a perfect example of that. These properties, in the hands of the greedy and short sighted, will be ruined forever. Please preserve our beaches. Read more

Beach 1 and 2 have parklands and green space used by thousands each year, it’s not just about the beach access the park areas are used. The town will ultimately develop this land, that is why they want it. Read more

My family has enjoyed the beach and the surrounding green space for decades. Provincial control of the land ensures the environmental protection of this land. Opening this space for development is a mistake. Please do not move forward with this transfer. Read more

Terrible proposal. This public land should be left alone. Developing green spaces is never the answer. When the public has access to green space they are more active. There will be more push back from the public then is worth any developers time. Just leave it the way it is. Read more
