This is terrible. You are gutting environmental protection to make rich business people richer. Ontario has such a rich and wonderful natural environment that has so much intrinsic and economic value. Species at risk deserve better. Do better

There is no reason to de-list these species other than avoidance of accountability for developers. Developers and industry should be held to the highest possible standards as for-profit operations, not handled with kid gloves and given permission to destroy and avoid innovation. Read more

The Ontario government should be stewards of the environment and diligently maintain or enhance legislation that protects ecosystems. Reducing and destroying natural habitats of vulnerable, at risk species is entirely unacceptable.

I do not agree with Bill 5 and believe this province needs to do more to protect species at risk especially as biodiversity is at risk not just in Ontario but globally. We won’t have roads and buildings to build when there is total ecological collapse.

Repeal Bill 5 and reinstate the species proposed to be removed from the list of species at risk! Don't let the province become a greater risk for further endangering over 100 species. These changes will put our lives at risk at the same time.

The earth is not ours to destroy. When will humans learn that protecting wildlife and nature maintains a balance that is necessary for our own future? Endangered animals must be protected to maintain the stability of the environments in which we live. Read more

There has been a steady increase over the passed 20 years in the number of species on the Ontario Endangered Species List. The proposed Act fails to adequately protect or improve the situation for species at risk. Read more

It is unthinkable that the government is proposing LESS species! Have we learned NOTHING from the past 500 years about what happens when species are not protected. Spoiler: they die. Enough species die, we will too. Do better. This is preposterous.

MAINTAIN THE ACT. "If you have nothing nice to say..." Why do you insist on making things worse when they can simply be left alone? Ideally they would be improved, but is it too much to ask that we don't care less about species we share the land with? Read more
