We can only assume that this nefarious overhaul of our precious Provincial and Municipal Conservation Authorities is another profit and power grab for the rich corporate friends of Doug Ford and his Cabinet? Read more

I reviewed your maps If you give these tyrannical employees the power over the whole area they will abuse the citizens even worse. Stop the beast. Get rid of them and give the authority back to the MNR. You will create a larger group of evil that is uncontrollable. Read more

I believe the conservation areas are what sets Canada apart from other countries. We have so many wonderful resources and I would hate to see them miss-managed. Keeping the conversation areas in local hands will ensure the resources are cared for properly and have enough funds to continue.

I urge the Province of Ontario NOT to proceed with the proposed amalgamation, which would ultimately undermine conservation authorities’ ability to protect communities from floods and natural hazards. Read more

Merging Conservation Authorities from 36 down to 7, risks losing local knowledge and input as well as the relationships that have allowed the RMOs to create plans that keep our drinking water safe. Read more

The proposed Huron-Superior CA is entirely too large and must be reduced. To amalgamate to a degree makes sense but a geography of that size is simply untenable and local municipalities need oversight and transparency re: the services they are paying for. Read more

I do not support this proposal. I believe that it will compromise work at the local level by removing direct oversight of the Hamilton area from the people who work and live in the Hamilton. It sounds like it will produce more headaches having more people involved in managing a larger area. Read more

I do not think that we should be looking to merge th conservation areas. It takes the voice away from the municipalities on their individual conservations, it is expensive when we already have a provincial government wasting our tax dollars to line their pockets and the pockets of their associates. I believe these changes will negatively impact Ontario's Nature Conservancy efforts. Ontario is made up of many different ecosystems under many different local authorities. Each community and environment would benefit more from tailored solutions informed by local expertise. Read more

I do not support the dissolving of local Conservation Authorities. In no way will doing that improve either the public experience or protection of habitat. Local Conservation Authorities have insight and historical knowledge of their local areas, and can manage their areas efficiently. Read more

This is disgusting … as if you haven’t completely demolished the lives and well being of Ontarians enough … and completely destroyed the environment with your unnecessary and harmful plans… you now want to remove local knowledge, support, and action. Read more

The current conservation authorities in each area are the subject matter experts in that region. Taking away their authority to manage and restrict or allow changes is contrary to the reason they were established in the first place. Read more

I am a resident of Thunder Bay, and am OPPOSED to the Province’s proposed amalgamation of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) with six other Southern Ontario Conservation Authorities to form the “Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority”. Read more
