I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Bigger is not better. There are other ways to meet needs. Read more

I do not like the idea of amalgamation of the conservation authorities. Grey sauble oversees a very unique area and I think that would be lost if the locals are not involved. Having outsiders manage something as significant as water and environment matters is a huge concern for me. Read more

I am deeply concerned that the provincial government is watering down environmental protections. The conservation authorities work to protect us from flooding and wetland destruction that the Conservative Government and Doug Ford do not understand. Read more

We’ve seen the damage that Almalgamating public health units has done. I feel like this is another ploy to shut down the voices of conservation so Doug Ford can abolish nature without impunity. We will lose drinking water. We will lose localized surveillance of water levels and systems. Read more

I have live on Lake Erie for 30 years. I live in central Elgin the local conservation Authority has cost me 120g. They lied to us several time. The manager was deceitful and made the process unbearable. She was a non approachable person. She told us we could get a permit then changed the rules. Read more

I do not agree with the proposed merger. Local community interest, funding and decision making should stay intact. It will not serve the municipalities or the environment to merge the Conservation Authorities. I do not support the 025-1257 proposal. Read more

Our NPCA understands Glanbrook’s specific flood risks, soil conditions, and rural drainage needs in a way a distant centralized agency never will. Moving authority to provincially appointed officials risks overriding local knowledge with one-size-fits-all rules that don’t fit our community. Read more

I am a landowner and a representative of many landowners in Elgin County. I have been devastated by the local conservation Authority in my area, I live in central Elgin. I was lied to. I spent 120g on engineers reports I was told to get to get my permit. Then denied my permit. Read more
