The logging industry has a signifgant negative effect on the forest environment, and especially on old growth and its dependent plant and animal species. Caribou populations are now crashing because of reasons that include habitat destruction. Read more

No company should ever be exempt from any Act that protects the environment or wildlife. Companies and Corporations, whether large or small, represent the greatest threat to species in the affected areas. To allow them an exemption is the equivalent of cancelling the Act in its entirety. Read more

It’s unacceptable to exempt the logging industry from rules that protect the caribou and the boreal forest. The biggest threats to endangered species is the loss of their habitat. Logging would affect many more animals than the caribou. Read more
