It's inarguable that development and persecution of this species will continue as long as people are permitted in their habitat, since the majority of people are swayed by decades or centuries of Christianity or Disney into thinking snakes are evil, rather than simply another animal we share this ea

I am a professional biologist with knowledge of and experience with Massasauga Rattlesnakes. I support the Government Response Statement for the Massasauga Rattlesnake, especially that habitat protection and population management are required for the Carolinian population.
Massasauga rattlesnakes in the Ojibway Prairie Complex are facing the threat of imminent extinction. This subpopulation is estimated to contain a meager 12 individuals.

I believe that in order for the persistence of the Carolinian populations of Massasaugas, there is a specific need to
implement population management actions, such as augmentation using captive-bred animals.
I would like to propose an additional recovery action for the Carolinian Massasauga GRS: the implementation of population augmentation using captive-bred neonate Massasaugas to improve population viability.
I am for the Ontario government's recovery goal for the Carolinian population of Massasaugas, and specifically the need to
implement population management actions, such as augmentation using captive-bred animals.

I hope they keep this up If you wipe out one species do they know what harm that will cause? Besides they should make sure thr snake does not pass recovery
I fully support the proposals outlined relating to the preservation of the Massasauga in Ontario. This species is an important and unique component of Ontario's biodiversity, and preserving large and healthy populations is critical.

I believe that the Massasauga is an important part of Ontario's biodiversity and should be protected in any way possible. With increasing urban sprawl, changes to our climate and overall increase in anthropogenic harm to our ecosystem the need to protect wildlife is extremely important.
