I am not in favour of cancelling cap and trade in Ontario. I would rather my tax dollars go to supporting a clean environment than to paying elevated health care and disaster relief costs that will accrue as results of environmental degradation.

I'd use my name, but I'm saving time. I'm from Ontario, and would like to feel good about returning some day. The Cap and Trade option was the weakest, most business-friendly possible way to do something about carbon. It should be replaced with no time gap, by much higher carbon taxes.

This should not occur. It has been scientifically proven that carbon taxes reduce emissions. This will put a cap on any good work that has been done by the green energy programs.
I strongly disagree with the government's plan to repeal the current Cap and Trade program by enacting Bill 4 without letting the public know what the government proposes to replace it.

I am appalled at the actions of the new Ontario government with respect to dealing with climate change. It has been proven that putting a price on emissions and making polluters pay, including individual citizens such as myself, does change habits and causes citizens to reduce their emissions.

I really hope that the Government of Ontario wIll continue championing the climate change battle by keeping the Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016, which will incorporate a Cap and Trade program.
