Maintenance of the trails ensure they are well kept and useable to every body who attends their sites. The trails a vital part of the communities they’re in, and we need to keep them clean, maintained, and accessible to all to support them and the communities.

Provincial Funding is critical for conservation authorities as the users are often from outside the municipality and therefore tax base. COVID has shown that access to well maintained nature is an important component of public health.

For some time I have been concerned about the former government's proliferation of acts and regulations and for failing to notify us citizens of them; so we have been liable for failing to obey the law. I suspect that in many cases the new legislation duplicated what was already in existence. Read more

It is disturbing to me that the provincial Conservative government wants to cut funding and authority to the stewards of natural spaces. My family and I have enjoyed the Conservation area near us for decades in all weather. Read more

Please do not cut funding to conservation authorities. They do priceless work in nature and biodiversity conservation and work to educate the public on issues such as water quality and private land management (e.g. erosion). Read more

This bill should not go through. Conservation areas are vital to each community and giving municipalities the power to deny funding to them is a death sentence. We all know, especially over the last year, how outdoor activities are critical to mental health and the well-being of a community. Read more

These recommendations could have a terribly negative impact on local conservation areas. During the COVID19 pandemic, local residents found reprieve from the lockdown in our local conservation areas. In some places, it is the only affordable recreational option. Read more
