Lake Ontario already has a phosphorous induced algae issue. This creates a severe safety issue for public using the lakefront, fauna and the nuclear plants. Phosphorous induced algae issues should be resolved prior to considering the option of sending more sewage to lake ontario. Thank you.

If you've been to the Ajax waterfront during the summer the issue with algae is readily apparent. This is a result of increased amounts of "treated" water being pumped into the lake. If you're going to allow further development in York Region then a better solution needs to be found. Read more

Durham Region is not interested in receiving the sewage from another region. Ajax already struggles with algae growth which negatively impacts our water and beaches. I also disagree with government letting themselves off the hook by making it so they are immune to liability. Read more

As a resident and taxpayer in York Region, I find this Act and proposal ill advised. York completed this assessment at great cost and the minister, many ministers actually, failed to make a decision even though the ministry staff review released found no concerns with the assessment as conducted. Read more
