I think the ability to bow hunt during the controlled hunt is a great idea! Years ago archery hunters could hunt on the Sunday of the controlled week. Sunday gun hunting was allowed and therefore archery hunters lost those Sundays as a result. This is a great way to give back to those affected. Read more

Thank you for supporting the use of archery equipment during gun seasons. It is not the weapon that makes you safe..it's the PPE and maturity. Imagine being a landowner not being able to hunt on his/her own land for several weeks of the season.

Please also open black bear season DURING the deer season for rifles in Unit 37 and other northern units where this is not currently allowed. The deer hunt is one week past now, and we still have bears not yet denned up. This has been the case for the entire 20 years I've lived in this unit.

As a long time deer hunter in Ontario I have witnessed many changes over the years and the trend is not good. We have hunted with a gang on the same parcel of land for over 60 years and for the last 4 years we did not harvest a buck during the 2 week rifle season. Read more

Bow hunters already have 9 weeks of dedicated uninterrupted hunting. Gun hunters in southern Ontario have their choice of one of two weeks and that is it. Please do not open up the controlled hunt to bow hunters. Read more

Hello, I personally think that a month long firearm season would put less stress on whitetail deer during the rutting period. It seems to work in the USA (Maine). Ontario needs to seriously look at how deer management is done in the USA. Thanks.

I completely disagree with this proposal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are less deer in WMA 45 then in past years, it has been like this for many seasons (I0+). Poaching and Wolves are the major contributors to this reduction in numbers. Read more

Bow hunters should be allowed to continue to hunt during the controlled deer hunt weeks without needing to apply for a controlled deer hunt validation, as long as they wear hunters orange as per current regulations for gun hunters. Read more
